Cashew nuts known as “Kaju” in Hindi are kidney-shaped nuts, famous as nature’s vitamin pill, having amazing and wonderful nutritional health benefits. It belongs to the Anacardiaceae family and Anacardium genus, found in the tropical regions of the earth. Later the outer skin gets destroyed and edible cashew nuts are extracted.

Cashews are very nutritious and a powerhouse of proteins and essential minerals including copper, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. Sodium is also present in very small quantities. Cashews also contain vitamins such as C, B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B-6, folate, E (alpha-tocopherol) and vitamin K (phylloquinone). Cashews are a source of oleic acid and provide a good quantity of monounsaturated fat and low amounts of polyunsaturated fats with no harmful cholesterol if consumed appropriately.
