3 cups deseeded and chopped watermelon

3 tbsp low-fat milk

1/4 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder

1/4 tsp black salt


  • Blend the watermelon in a mixer till smooth.
  • Transfer it into a deep bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour the watermelon mixture into a shallow aluminium container and cover it with an aluminium foil.
  • Freeze it for approx. 10 to 12 hours or until it is firm.
  • Remove it from the freezer and keep aside for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Scrape it with a fork and serve immediately in 3 individual glasses.

Watermelon – 4 cups, cubed

Mint leaves – 8-10

Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons

Sugar – ½ tablespoon, optional

Roasted cumin powder – ½ teaspoon

Black salt – 1 teaspoon

Black pepper powder – ⅛ teaspoon


  • Chop the watermelon without rind into big chunks. Remove the seeds if any. Take the watermelon cubes into the blender.
  • Add mint leaves.
  • Squeeze the fresh lemon or lime juice.
  • Add sugar if needed. If your watermelon is sweet enough then skip it.
  • Spice up the juice by adding roasted cumin powder and black salt.
  • Also add a pinch of black pepper powder.
  • Blend it till it gets smooth. There should not be any large pieces of mint leaves.
  • Pour into the serving glasses. If needed add few ice cubes to the glass and then pour the juice into. Garnish it with mint leaves and serve.
